Control System Engineer
The Challenge
Minesto was founded in 2007 as a spin-off from aircraft manufacturer Saab. Today, listed on the Nasdaq First North stock exchange with 50 employees and operations in Sweden, Wales, the Faroe Islands and Taiwan, Minesto is a driving force in the creation of an emerging renewable energy industry.
As a Control System Engineer at Minesto, you will be part of an international, dedicated development team working towards the commercialization of a game-changing renewable ocean energy technology with global expansion potential. We offer a high-paced, dynamic environment at the core of innovative climate tech.
The Role
You will be involved in all aspects of the kite control, such as coding in SIMULINK-, C++ and Python, performing simulations, workshop rig testing, data setting, in-depth analysis of big data (with and without AI elements) from previous and ongoing flights including close collaboration with Minesto’s specialist engineers from various other departments.
This position will focus on tasks to further develop the software that controls the power plant (kite) in the water. The goal is to convert as much energy as possible from the flowing water to mechanical energy on the turbine shaft, which means you should be eager to learn how Minesto’s technology works to improve it even further.
The role involves active participation in offshore operational programs at site and over remote connections. You will be expected to monitor and control and or adjust live operating kite systems, particularly during commissioning programs.
Your Profile
We are looking for an experienced Control System Engineer who is analytical, collaborative and self-motivated. Recently graduated students should apply as well, who can show the right level of competence and drive for this position.
Key qualifications:
- A technical education with a minimum Masters degree in engineering (MSc)
- Professional experience with design of closed loop controls systems
- Professional experience of SIMULINK
- Professional experience with programming languages like C++ and Python
Advantageous
- Experience with embedded systems
